2020 Perspective

2020 has been interesting; like everyone we know, the year kicked off hot. Then Covid19 hit like an anchor to the chest, and almost overnight, everything changed. So we are thankful for the clients who have kept us busy, hopeful for the projects that have been put on hold,  but most importantly, we are aware that many of our friends and clients are hurting.

We’ve had enough work to keep our schedules full, but the shift has challenged us practically and emotionally. Working from home, limited ability for shoot days and not being able to collaborate in person has been challenging. We are at our best when we are together. The shock of change has forced a reset.

Our tendency at Hand Crank Films is to always look forward. It helps keep our creative sharp and pushes us to get better, but right now we can only see so far into the future. This reset has forced us to take a breath and reflect on the past year, to celebrate where we have come from, the people who have helped us get here and patiently appreciate what we have accomplished so far.

So here are some of our favorite projects that we have filmed or launched during the first 3 months of 2020.

San Diego Humane Society | Lucy

Brigid Collins | Melissa’s Story

SPIE | 2020 Prism Awards

Thank you to all our clients for their continued support and business. Thank you to our crew for all the hard work and creative energy. We appreciate you all.

Say Hello ++++

We’re going for the emotions. Joy, sorrow, laughter, love - we want it all. And we want to work with people that understand that language. Partners who will challenge us to be better and push us to grow, so when we share it with the world, we've made something that matters.
